Abstract

This article examines the artistic representation of national, historical, natural, and heroic motifs in Uzbek and Karakalpak poetry. It analyzes previous research on epic traditions, the bahshi performance school, the preservation of epic heritage in the 1960s–1980s, and the poetic interpretation of new socio-cultural realities. The study also highlights translation challenges between closely related Turkic languages, focusing on lexical-semantic discrepancies, “false equivalents,” phonetic differences, and stylistic inconsistencies. Special attention is given to the works of Karakalpak poet Ibragim Yusupov, demonstrating the interconnectedness of historical memory, national identity, heroism, and family motifs within his poetic system. Statistical data from a line graph confirms that national motifs occupy the dominant position in the poet’s creative output.
