Abstract

The article examines four books by Goʻzal Begim, published between 1998 and 2018, from the standpoint of the philosophical and psychological foundations of lyrical experience. The problem is that such analysis in Uzbek literary studies has been elaborated mainly on prose material. A longitudinal qualitative method is applied, and the observations are tested against a frequency count. The analysis identifies self-negation as the core of this experience, traces the motif of fragmentation, and explains the shift in the attitude towards suffering from worthlessness to aestheticisation. The novelty lies in studying the poet’s output as an integral system for the first time.
