Abstract

Recent linguistic research increasingly focuses on emotional concepts within the anthropocentric paradigm as a means of revealing the national-cultural and cognitive features of language. This study aims to identify the literary representation of the emotional concept of “arrogance” (pride) in Tulepbergen Kaipbergenov’s “The Incomprehensible”. Conceptual analysis was employed as the main method, complemented by cognitive, linguacultural, contextual, and conceptual metaphor approaches. The findings show that the concept is primarily represented through metaphorical imagery, character relationships, and the author’s axiological evaluation.
