Abstract

The relief of the Fergana Valley was assessed for tourism use within a single natural boundary. Absolute elevation, slope, aspect and terrain dissection layers were derived from Copernicus DEM GLO-30. The results identify foothills and low mountains as the most balanced settings for general travel, while high mountains retain strong value for specialised active tourism. Contrasts among the Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Tajik parts support a spatially differentiated approach to route design and infrastructure.
