Abstract

The article examines the artistic and aesthetic features of the novel-essay genre in Karakalpak literature and the manifestations of genre diffusion within it using the example of T. Qayipbergenov's novel-essay «Qoraqalpoqnoma». The main goal of the research is to identify the mechanisms of mutual synthesis of elements of the novel, essay, journalism, memoir, historical narrative, and folklore tradition in the novel-essay genre and to reveal their influence on the genre nature of the work. As a result of the research, it is shown that the work has emerged from the framework of the traditional novel and formed a multi-layered dual genre structure, and this phenomenon is one of the literary trends defining the artistic explorations of modern Karakalpak novel writing.
