Abstract

Overload injuries remain one of the leading causes of decreased athletic performance, missed training, and deterioration of results in middle and long-distance runners. Modern research confirms that biomechanical movement asymmetry is an important predictor of traumatic changes in running technique. The purpose of this article is to develop a scientifically based model for the prevention of overloaded injuries based on the analysis of biomechanical asymmetry of movements and adapted corrective exercises. 30 qualified runners participated in the study, who underwent video and cinematographic analysis of technique, functional testing, and assessment of asymmetry. The obtained data confirm that the implementation of biomechanical monitoring and targeted correction of technique significantly reduces the risk of injury and increases sports performance.
