Abstract

In this article is considered a problem of mass of a lattice polaron. Extended Holstein model is used in order to calculate the mass of polaron. A chain model is accepted for a lattice. It is shown that compression by external pressure a- and b- periods of CuO2 plane gives rise a reduction of polaron’s mass, while compression by external pressure c- period gives rise an increase of polaron’s mass. The obtained results might be used in interpretation of experimental data on cuprates.
