Abstract

The article deals with linguocultural features of historical toponyms in English and Karakalpak. There have been described in detail the historical origin of some toponyms and analysed morphological features in word-formation of toponyms. It was studied some approaches in word-forming of toponyms, furthermore on the basis of some proved hypothesis there were depicted similarities and differences of toponyms.
