Abstract

The aim of the article is the analysis of phraseological units characterizing the man in English. One of the important sources of national-cultural information are the phraseological units, interpretation of which presents a particular type of cognitive procedure of decoding with the help of awareness of national culture, traditions, customs, traditional models of structuring on the basis of the world picture.
