METHODOLOGY FOR DEVELOPING PHILOLOGY STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILLS BASED ON THE COMPETENCY-BASED APPROACH

Abstract

The article analyzes the theoretical and methodological foundations for developing philology students’ speaking skills based on the competency-based approach. The study highlights the potential of competency-based, communicative, student centered, and linguodidactic approaches. It also demonstrates the importance of modern digital technologies in expanding students’ opportunities to analyze their own speech, engage in self-assessment, and carry out reflection. The findings of the study show that a methodological system organized on the basis of the competency-based approach contributes to the systematic development of philology students’ communicative competence, professional preparation, and speaking skills.
